[Flash Rovers] New Years and Surfmoot

Filed under: State-wide Activities — Simon at 2:40 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2006

Hi guys, hope you all had a top Christmas.

Firstly, many Rovers from around the place including a few from Flash are heading to Morgan on the River for New Years. Every year it absolutely goes off with heaps and heaps of people going, live band, pubs, river, etc. What more can you want? If you want to go, please get in touch with Tyson as he’s organising it all: tyson82[at]bigpond.net.au. Please get in touch with him ASAP.

Also, Surfmoot is coming up over the Aussie day Long Weekend. By now you should all have read the info on the website http://www.surfmoot.com/ . I need to know within the next week if you are definately going. Also, please tell me if you are willing to drive or if you need to go in a car with someone else. It’s important you tell me by New Years so this can be organised!! Trust me, it’ll be worth going :)

Please get in touch with me and Tyson ASAP.

Cheers for now,
Simon

Hi everyone,

Just reminding you about State Moot Rover camp coming up on Friday 25th of August – 27th of August. 2 of us are already confirmed.

The cost is only $35 including food! There are other expeditions you can chose to do, like shooting (another $33), archery ($15) horse riding ($40) and wine/cheese tasting ($6). For more info, visit:
www.rovers.sa.scouts.com.au/events/statemoot .

All I need you to do is to let me know BY THURSDAY if you are interested or not. If you ARE interesed, please let me know if you want to do any extra expeditions. I’ll need to get a $20 deposit from you within the next few days as well so I can buy the tickets. We will car pool up on Friday evening, and I can get tents if you can’t get one yourselves. Bring all your standard camping gear, as well as whatever grog you’ll want to drink. Any questions, please ask me!

Thanks – I’ll hear from you all in the next few days.

Thanks for coming to our pub crawl

Hi everyone,

Thankyou very much to everyone who came on the crawl … It was an absolutely fantastic night. It was great to see so many people in the red shirts! We had around 45 people all up (and i’m pretty sure every crew had at least 1 person there.)

The night went really smoothly and thanks to everyone again for being well behaved :P I hope you tell everyone that wasn’t there how great it was and that they really need to go on our next one (which will most likely be Nth Adelaide towards the end of the year).

We are missing the shoe though … does anybody know what happened to it?

Cheers again!

Ski Week

Hi all,

We’re looking at getting a group of us (and other Rovers) to go over to the Bogong Rover Chalet for Rover Week 3 (8-15 July).

Basically, we’d be looking at driving over (just in cars, or a mini bus if we get enough people) on Friday the 7th, then returning to Adelaide on the 16th. This is in the Uni holidays for those of you that are at Uni.

Go here for an application!! Early bird discounts end April 1st, so if $$ is an issue, look at this soon! At an early bird price, it’s $275 (mind you, after that, the normal rate is still just $320!!) for the entire week in the snow including Accommodation and food, which is bloody awesome in my books. On top of that we’ll have basically transport and ski and boot hire, so we’d probably be looking at around $500-$600 each for the whole 9 days away, which is even more of a bargain! There are plenty of people that you could borrow gear off as well, if that’s a looming issue for you.

Please check this out, it’s an awesome opportunity and you want to experience it as many times as possible!

NB: no skiing experience necessary (trust me, I’ve been there)
