Please take the time to read this email – it containts some pretty important info. This includes all the people who haven’t been to any Flash things yet!

This next fortnight is pretty busy for several of us, on account of Uni exams. This means, unofrtunately, that there is going to be little happening between now and the 28th of June – Unless some of you non-Uni people want to organise something!

Unfortunately due to people already cancelling, the formal fish n chips won’t be happening, for now.

Our next activity, unless otherwise notified, will be on the 29th of June at the Ed hotel, from 6:30pm til about 9/9:30. We will be having the membership officer from Branch coming along as well to see how we’re going as a crew and to decide whether or not we will be granted full crew status. For this reason, It is extremely important that you all try and make it there. You don’t have to be 18 or anything like that, just come for dinner and to talk about where Flash is going. Part of the night will be for programing future months, so if you have any ideas, please bring them with you. This is a great chance for new people to come along and to get to know the rest of the crew. Everyone is welcome! (Here’s a map! – http://www.edinburgh.com.au/findUs.asp)

It will be here that we will also ask whether or not you want to become an official Flash Rover. For those who aren’t familiar with the system, you get to come along to four “trial” meetings – a try before you buy sorta thing – and after these four meetings, you need to decide whether or not you are going to become a Flash Rover. We will have investitures for all those wishing to be Flash Rovers next semester.

Next semester will be alot more structured, with regular den meetings and more of a “Scouty” emphasis on the program. Those wanting to do badgework will also be encouraged and appropriate programing ideas introduced (there’s at least two of us wanting to do some badgework and it would be great to see some more!) Also, our fee system will be introduced with each member having to pay Crew and Branch fees each semester, as well as the annual Scouts Australia Membership fee. All up, it only costs about $60 every 6 months.

We are here to make fun for ourselves and others, and we can’t do that if we don’t know what we all want to do!!!

Well, it looks like we’re finally going to get to move into the den! At the curry night we had another investigation of it, and I took a few photos. I’ll get them up when we have the photo gallery happening. The ceiling is one of the main things we need to check out, followed by painting and a few touch ups filling in cracks etc.

If anyone has any ideas with what we can do with the den, make some comments on this post!

Hi all,

We were looking at meeting down at the Ed this Saturday, June 10, and decided to make something of it. If you’re not doing anything, come down and celebrate a very special night, for a very special lady. We needed an excuse, and what better than Liz Hurley’s bday?

We’ll be there from 6:37pm having dinner, and sticking around after. You’re welcome to drop in whenever you want, and join us for tea if you like. So come down to the Edinburgh Hotel at Mitcham when you get the chance on Saturday night, and tell all your friends. – here’s a map!

Well as you are mostly aware, we aren’t visiting sex shops on Friday anymore … But …

We are going to have a curry night! That’s right, I decided It was time to check out our den and Dylan wanted to cook curry – so that’s exactly what will be happening this Friday night at 7PM. In case you don’t know, our den is at 11 Egmont Tce, Hawthorn 5062.

Cost will be $4/5 and bring your own bevvies if you wish. Please just give us a quick RSVP so we know how many to cater for.

We will also share plenty of stories from Saturday night

Hi everyone,

Thankyou very much to everyone who came on the crawl … It was an absolutely fantastic night. It was great to see so many people in the red shirts! We had around 45 people all up (and i’m pretty sure every crew had at least 1 person there.)

The night went really smoothly and thanks to everyone again for being well behaved I hope you tell everyone that wasn’t there how great it was and that they really need to go on our next one (which will most likely be Nth Adelaide towards the end of the year).

We are missing the shoe though … does anybody know what happened to it?
